While the development of mobile payment has been off to a slow start in North America, China has become the melting pot for mobile payment solutions. Both Alipay (Alibaba) and WeChat Pay (Tencent) are playing as the leading role not only in the China market, but also in South East Asian Market. With the significant number of increase of Chinese oversea travelers and international students, more and more oversea merchants started to realize the power of Alipay and WeChat Pay, it increases customer conveniences, boosts merchants' sales, and also brings merchants with an international branding value. As a result in 2017, Alipay and WeChat Pay are both successfully launched to North America Markets.
